June is the start of the cool season: richer water, more active wildlife and the blue-footed booby courtship on North Seymour. What June is best for:
June marks the start of the cool season. The current brings cooler, richer water, the seas become choppier and the days drier. Snorkelling now means a wetsuit, and in return the water is full of life.
On North Seymour the blue-footed boobies begin their courtship dance, the penguins become more active at Tagus Cove on Isabela, and the albatross courtship continues on Española. The giant tortoises move back up into the Santa Cruz highlands, and humpback whales are sometimes seen on the crossings.
June to November
Cooler air, misty highlands, choppier and richer seas. June opens it: cooler water, choppier seas and the first booby dances.

Yes, if wildlife comes first. June brings the blue-footed booby courtship, more active penguins and the albatross on Española. The seas become choppier than in the warm season.
Their courtship on North Seymour runs from June to August.
A wetsuit makes snorkelling comfortable from June onwards, especially in the west, where the water is coldest.
